The New Gym
As part of our growth strategy and our philosophy of "a place for every kid to play", BYC is building a 27,600 s.f. multi-purpose gymnasium at Route 1 and Thornton Road in Concord Township. The new gym will have 3 basketball/volleyball courts, wrestling and

cheerleading practice space and a snack bar. It will be used primarily for BYC basketball and other BYC indoor sports programs. During the day, it will also be made available to other community groups.
The Need
At the present time, our indoor sports programs, basketball, volleyball, wrestling and competitive |

cheerleading, with over 1,600 participants are totally dependent on allocations of gym usage by the Garnet Valley School District. We compete for space with school and other community sports and recreational activities. We have to ration the practice times of our teams and we are at risk of having to reduce teams and turn kids away due to space shortages. It is clear that the gym space shortage will constrain our growth if we do not build a gymnasium space for our teams.
What Can I Do?
We estimate the total cost for this project will be approximately $1,800,000. Through a $500,000 state grant and $400,000 of BYC reserves we are half way there! Our goal is to raise $1,000,000 through this capital campaign from our club membership base, the surrounding community and corporate sponsorship. We have many Club Sponsor levels to meet your needs and desires ranging from $1,000 to $9,000 over a 3-year period. We also have corporate sponsorship levels and a “buy-a-brick campaign.”
